Tom was born in Connecticut and summered in York, Maine. He has lived and worked in York County for the past 25 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Nasson College he moved to Florida to begin his graduate studies at the University of West Florida. For several years he was owner and publisher of a weekly newspaper covering Northwest Florida and coastal Alabama. Before becoming a real estate agent Tom spent 15 years in the mortgage industry. He began at a family owned mortgage brokerage then moved to a small New Hampshire bank, and finally on to Century 21 Mortgage.
